Non-resident Ambassadors and High Commissioners accredited to Fiji from Canberra and Wellington were hosted to welcome reception at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva on Monday 19th August 2019.
The 3 days of familiarisation visit program is intended to strengthen Fiji’s bilateral relations and cooperation with the countries participating in the programme who are based in Canberra and Wellington, which span the regions of Asia, Africa, Europe, Western Europe, Middle East and Latin America.
The programme highlighted the Fiji's national development efforts and strengthening global partnerships to achieve development aspirations across all sectors.
Acting Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Mr Yogesh Karan, in welcoming the Non-Resident Heads of Mission said, “The objective of the familiarisation visit is to enable non-resident Ambassadors and High Commissioners accredited to Fiji to have a deeper appreciation of Fiji, explore various opportunities for cooperation, and identify areas of mutual interest that would enhance bilateral relations”.
The familiarisation visit program, with the theme “Nurturing Global Partnerships for Sustainable Development,” was held from Tuesday 20th to Thursday 22nd August 2019.
